In a game that featured a five-hour weather delay, ECU could not overcome a four-run hole in the first inning and lost for the second straight day, finishing one win shy of Omaha, Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>ECU earned a national seed after entering postseason play on a nation-leading 19-game winning streak.  The Pirates beat the Longhorns, 13-7, this past Friday before falling in walk-off fashion in Game 2 Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yesterday was our day to do it and we let it slip away,&#8221; Godwin said.  &#8220;We just didn&#8217;t play quite good enough. Texas is really good. For everybody, these young men do it the right way. I don&#8217;t care if I don&#8217;t ever coach in the College World Series as a head coach, that&#8217;s not my job. My job is to develop young men and make them into better people. Our culture is the reason we survived this year. It hurts. Wish I could&#8217;ve done more. Bad stuff happens to good people every single day.
