In its 18th day of release, Paramount \/ Skydance’s Top Gun: Maverick<\/strong> <\/em>has crossed the four century mark at the domestic box office or $ 401.8M<\/strong>easily becoming the highest grossing movie year to date in 2022 at the domestic box office, and the second highest-grossing movie of the pandemic after Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home <\/em>($ 804.7M).<\/p>\n

Top Gun 2 <\/em>blasts past Disney \/ Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, <\/em>which through yesterday stands at $ 398.7M. That Sam Raimi directed movie recently briefly overtook The Batman <\/em>($ 369.3M) as the highest grossing movie of 2022. The MCU sequel has been in release for 39 days or six weekends.<\/p>\n

Top Gun 2 <\/em>ranked second yesterday with $ 6.6M, off 62% from Sunday. As Nancy mentioned earlier, the Tom Cruise movie is bound for a billion. The pic will become Cruise’s overall top grossing film of his career, beating Mission: Impossible – Fallout <\/em>($ 791.6M)<\/p>\n

Universal \/ Amblin’s Jurassic World Dominion<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>natch, led Monday with $ 12.7M<\/strong>-67% from Sunday, sending its four-day total to $ 157.7M<\/strong>.
