Bits and pieces of the American <em>Sailor Moon<\/em>\u2014called <em>Saban Moon <\/em>in the fan community due to the involvement of <em>Power Rangers <\/em>Producer Haim Saban\u2014have <span>leake<!-- -->d online over the years<\/span>including a second-hand video of what would apparently have been its awful theme song (in terms of themes that explain the premise of the show, it makes <em>The Transformers <\/em>look like\u2026 <em>Twin Peaks<\/em>?).<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">A few years ago, Cecilia D&#8217;Anastasio at <em>Kotaku <\/em>put together <span>a fascinating investigation <\/span>into what <em>Saban Moon <\/em>was and how it (almost) came to be, detailing the hybrid live-action\/animated series about a teen girl who hangs out with her friends as a real person but then transforms into the superhero Sailor Moon to go on animated adventures.  It looked, in a word, awful.  thigh <em>Kotaku<\/em>&#8216;s investigation uncovered an interesting thing: A second project called <em>Team Angel <\/em>was put together by some of the <em>Saban Moon <\/em>people to try and salvage the concept, and certain portions of that were able to be uncovered, but any actual evidence of the <em>Saban Moon <\/em>pilot\u2014which, according to some accounts, did exist somewhere\u2014was apparently gone.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"flex-video widescreen\"><iframe data-src=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/embed\/inset\/iframe?id=youtube-video-SdYD5StqHxk&amp;start=0\" data-chomp-id=\"SdYD5StqHxk\" data-recommend-id=\"youtube:\/\/SdYD5StqHxk\" id=\"youtube-SdYD5StqHxk\" data-recommended=\"false\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" class=\"core-inset lazyload\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"webkitAllowFullScreen\" mozallowfullscreen=\"mozallowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><span data-chomp-id=\"SdYD5StqHxk\" data-recommend-id=\"youtube:\/\/SdYD5StqHxk\" id=\"youtube-SdYD5StqHxk\" data-recommended=\"false\" class=\"js_recommend\"\/><\/span><figcaption class=\"sc-1ptbguh-0 hxeMec caption\">The Western World Of Sailor Moon |  Tales of the Lost<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">but now, <span>as reported by <em>The Verge<\/em><\/span>a YouTuber called Ray Mona who specializes in uncovering seemingly lost media has found the full, never-before-seen pilot episode of the American <em>Sailor Moon<\/em>.
