As the only true newcomer available in the early Street Fighter 6 demos, Jamie has been the toughest nut to crack for players getting limited hands-on time with the game, so it’s been harder to gauge what he can actually do.

Thanks to the demo being available at VSFighting X this weekend, FlawlessDeku was able to capture arguably the best showcase of Jamie’s abilities as well as confirming he can combo after hitting his level 3 Super Art.

As can be seen 2:56 mark of FlawlessDeku’s video or the tweet below, Jamie lands what appears to be a counter hit medium kick into Swagger Step before canceling for the drinking dancer’s Getsuga Saiho.

The finishing launch at the end allows Jamie enough time to continue the combo to an Overdrive Swagger Step into Arrow Kick for 13 hits in total, which KO’s Ryu from about 25% life.

With all of the factors that tie into SF6 and Jamie’s character-specific mechanics, it’s difficult to immediately know how limited or universal this follow-up actually is.

Our first thought was maybe he had to be at a higher drink level to pull that off, but the footage shows he’s only powered up once — so he could potentially get even better combo options at level 3 or 4.

Vs Fighting was so much fun! Thanks to everyone I played/hung out with, and big thanks to @TheStreetWriter for giving us the chance to play more SF6!

The first video is now up and I found some awesome stuff with Jamie.

We’d previously seen Chun-Li be able to combo her level 2 into aerial level 1 Supers in SF6, but we believe this is the first time we’ve gotten confirmation that a level 3 Super can potentially be combo’d after too — and perhaps this is another reference to the twins whose names start with “Y”.

Street Fighter 6 giving every character 3 Super Arts (plus Critical Art at low health) is seemingly giving the developers more creative freedom with what they can actually do like temporary install buffs and more.

This is much opposed to how Street Fighter 5 handled their Critical Arts, which basically boiled town to combo finishers or chip KO enablers.

For the rest of the gameplay, FlawlessDeku shows off what Jamie’s previously-rarely seen Tenshin command grab along with some flashy drink level 4 combos and Drive Rush options.

If you’ve been interested to see what Jamie can really do in Street Fighter 6, we highly recommend checking out FlawlessDeku’s full video below.
