Astrophotographers Andrew McCarthy and Connor Matherne went viral over the weekend with a massively detailed image of the earth’s celestial tag-a-long.<\/p>\n

Photo stitching is a technique that involves connecting images together to create a larger field of view.<\/figcaption>

Using technology known as \u201cphoto stitching,\u201d the pair combined over 200,000 photos of the moon into one.<\/p>\n

McCarthy said the image amounted to a 174 megapixel shot.<\/p>\n
