{"id":54364,"date":"2022-08-23T23:46:58","date_gmt":"2022-08-23T23:46:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/kardashians-among-worst-water-wasters-in-california-amid-drought\/"},"modified":"2022-08-23T23:46:58","modified_gmt":"2022-08-23T23:46:58","slug":"kardashians-among-worst-water-wasters-in-california-amid-drought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/kardashians-among-worst-water-wasters-in-california-amid-drought\/","title":{"rendered":"Kardashians among worst water wasters in California amid drought"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Luckily not everyone is keeping up with the Kardashians.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrity sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are among a number of stars listed among the worst water wasters in their swanky California neighborhoods amid unprecedented drought restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Three of the duo&#8217;s multi-million-dollar properties were among those issued \u201cnotices of exceedance\u201d by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, indicating they&#8217;d surpassed 150% of their monthly water allowance at least four times since a drought emergency was declared late last year, according to records obtained by the Los Angles Times.<\/p>\n<p>It leaves them potentially subject to flow-restrictor devices, which would drastically reduce the amount of water they could get to waste.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption>Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are reportedly among California&#8217;s worst water wasters as the state suffers a severe drought.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">MEGA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Other stars on the list of around 2,000 wasteful residents in the swanky Calabasas and Hidden Hills neighborhoods included Kevin Hart and Sylvester Stallone, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>But the most wasteful was former NBA star Dwyane Wade and his actress wife Gabrielle Union, who used 90,000 gallons more than they were supposed to in June \u2014 more than 1,400% of that month&#8217;s allowance.<\/p>\n<p>The pair were even worse in May, when they used a staggering 489,000 gallons more than they were allowed \u2014 more than any other customer that month, the LA paper said.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The couple blamed a problem with their pool, telling the LA Times that they&#8217;ve since \u201ctaken drastic steps to reduce water usage in accordance with the new city guidelines and have since we moved into our home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been doing everything we can to rectify the situation and will continue to go to extensive lengths to resolve the issue,\u201d they insisted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to work with the city and the water distribution company to make sure this isn&#8217;t an issue moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The list included two properties linked to 41-year-old Kim Kardashian \u2014 her Hidden Hills home and its adjacent lot, the LA paper said. That could result in dead or damaged trees falling on my client&#8217;s property or neighboring properties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stallone \u201chas been addressing the situation responsibly and proactively\u201d and had \u201cnotified the city regarding the mature trees, and are awaiting an inspection and further instruction from the city about how to proceed,\u201d Singer said, claiming \u201call of the larger properties in the area have similar issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A 26-acre Calabasas property under the name of Kevin Hart, meanwhile, exceeded his June budget by 117,000 gallons, or about 519%, records show.
