Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:

To make room on the 40-man roster to clear space for Weissert, they put injured center fielder Harrison Bader on the 60-day injured list.

The Yankees begin a four-game series in Oakland on Thursday. Expected starters will be Jameson Taillon, Gerrit Cole, Domingo Germán and a to-be-determined pitcher for the series finale on Sunday.

Cortes is the latest Yankees pitcher to suffer an injury, though reliever Clay Holmes is expected to be activated while the team is on the road. Right-hander Clarke Schmidt was recalled to the major-league roster earlier this week after being stretched out to a starter’s workload in Triple A.

Through 23 starts, Cortes has a 2.68 ERA with 133 strikeouts in 131 innings pitched this season. New York is coming off three straight wins after losing six out of seven games last week. Despite its recent skid, the team leads the American League East by 7 1/2 games with a 76-48 record.

Barstool Sports and the New York Post previously reported Weissert’s promotion.
