Anne Hathaway will be starring in the Prime Video film adaptation of the popular romance book inspired by Harry Styles, The Idea Of You.<\/p>\n

Anne, 39, will be playing Sophie, a divorced 40-year-old woman who falls for 24-year-old boy bander Hayes Campbell, Deadline reported Thursday.<\/p>\n

The movie will be directed by Michael Showalter, who previously helmed The Eyes Of Tammy Faye and The Big Sick.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Westfeldt, who has starred in Friends With Kids, Kissing Jessica Stein and more, has written the script and will also serve as executive producer.<\/p>\n

The Idea Of You will be produced by Anne, Cathy Schulman, Gabrielle Union, Kian Gass, Eric Hayes, Jordana Mollick, and the author of the book, Robinne Lee.<\/p>\n

Production is set to start in October.<\/p>\n

The Idea Of You will follow Sophie, ‘a 40-year-old divorced mother,’ according to Deadline.<\/p>\n

‘Sophie’s husband Dan left her for a younger woman, and now he has canceled his Coachella trip with their 15-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n

‘Sophie picks up the pieces, braving the crowds and desert heat. There, she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet, August Moon.’<\/p>\n

The book, released in 2017, has been dubbed a ‘sleeper hit’ by Vogue with sales increasing every year since it’s release. The novel also experienced a 20% rise in sales in 2019. <\/p>\n

‘This was never supposed to be a book about Harry Styles,’ Robinne told the fashion magazine in 2020. <\/p>\n

‘Inspired is a strong word,’ Lee said after she was asked if Harry was the inspiration behind the book.<\/p>\n

Robinne said the idea came to her during a late night YouTube search.<\/p>\n

‘A few years ago, my husband was away on business and I was up late surfing music videos on YouTube when I came across the face of a boy I’d never seen in a band I’d never paid attention to, and it was so aesthetically perfect it took me by surprise. It was like\u2026art,’ she said in a 2017 interview with blogger Deborah Kalb. <\/p>\n

‘I spent a good hour or so Googling and trying to figure out who this kid was and in doing so I discovered that he often dated older women, and so the seed was planted.’<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
