{"id":57249,"date":"2022-08-26T17:16:56","date_gmt":"2022-08-26T17:16:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/richard-simmons-breaks-6-year-silence-after-bombshell-doc\/"},"modified":"2022-08-26T17:16:56","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T17:16:56","slug":"richard-simmons-breaks-6-year-silence-after-bombshell-doc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/richard-simmons-breaks-6-year-silence-after-bombshell-doc\/","title":{"rendered":"Richard Simmons breaks 6-year silence after bombshell doc"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Richard Simmons has broken his 6-year silence, speaking out to thank fans for their love and following the release of a bombshell documentary about his mysterious disappearance from the spotlight.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>The famous fitness guru suddenly vanished from the public eye in 2014, becoming Hollywood&#8217;s most notorious recluse. <\/p>\n<p>But on Wednesday night, the 74-year-old took to his Facebook page, sharing a public message which stated: \u201cThank you, everyone, for your kindness and love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The note appeared to be penned by Simmons himself, as he signed off the short posting with the words: \u201cLove, Richard.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>His spokesperson additionally told The Post in a message on Friday: \u201cRichard is eternally grateful for the continuous outpouring of love and gratitude he has received from across the globe.  He is happy, healthy and living the life he has chosen to live.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption>Simmons was one of America&#8217;s most prolific public figures for more than three decades before his disappearance.  He is pictured in 2011. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It comes just days after the release of the new doc \u201cTMZ Investigates: What Really Happened to Richard Simmons,\u201d which claimed issues with the star&#8217;s knees were behind the his sudden shunning of the spotlight. <\/p>\n<p>Simmons hasn&#8217;t been seen in public since 2014, but he did phone the Today show back in 2016 to refute wild rumors that he was being held hostage by his housekeeper. <\/p>\n<p>Fans were thrilled by Simmon&#8217;s Facebook message, which has already racked up close to 5,000 comment responses. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew it was you, Richard!\u201d  one admirer swooned.  \u201cYou are very much loved, please never doubt that.  You have done so much good in so many people&#8217;s lives.  Thank you for all that you have done and are still doing.  None of us will ever forget you!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another chimed in: \u201cWe miss you Richard but hope you are doing what is right for you.  You have given me so much joy for years, it is your time now, you deserve peace and happiness.
