Commanders running back Brian Robinson is in \u201cgood spirits\u201d after he was shot multiple times in an attempted carjacking in Washington, DC<\/p>\n

Head coach Ron Rivera tweeted the update late Sunday night, just hours after the rookie was shot by two men who were attempting to rob him of his Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just got done visiting w\/Brian,\u201d Rivera posted to his twitter account<\/a>. \u201cHe is in good spirits and wanted me to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers & support. He wants his teammates to know he appreciates them all for reaching out and he loves them all & he will be back soon doing what he does best. \u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n

Before the shooting, Robinson had been expected to split backfield duties in Washington with Antonio Gibson and JD McKissic. He was taken in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft after a decorated career at the University of Alabama, where he was named the MVP of the College Football Semifinal in 2021.<\/p>\n

Police have identified two male suspects in the shooting, who both remain at large as of Monday morning.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
