{"id":62973,"date":"2022-09-01T16:55:56","date_gmt":"2022-09-01T16:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/fans-confused-why-hillary-clinton-is-at-venice-film-festival\/"},"modified":"2022-09-01T16:55:56","modified_gmt":"2022-09-01T16:55:56","slug":"fans-confused-why-hillary-clinton-is-at-venice-film-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/fans-confused-why-hillary-clinton-is-at-venice-film-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Fans confused why Hillary Clinton is at Venice Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Hillary Clinton may have been a 2016 presidential candidate, the former First Lady and US Secretary of State, but now she&#8217;s making the rounds in the film industry.<\/p>\n<p>The 74-year-old made a rare appearance at the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday and her attendance confused some, who wondered why she was there.<\/p>\n<p>Clinton posed on the red carpet for the premiere of director Noah Baumbach&#8217;s forthcoming Netflix movie \u201cWhite Noise.\u201d  She ditched her usual pantsuit look and instead donned a baby blue caftan and shiny flats for the evening.<\/p>\n<p>Many were confused about why she was there, but rumors have swirled around that it was due to her connection to Netflix.  The streaming giant is also at the helm of Clinton and her daughter Chelsea&#8217;s documentary, \u201cIn Her Hands.\u201d  The project will be the first from the Clintons&#8217; new production company HiddenLight Productions. <\/p>\n<p>On social media, users seemed quizzically surprised at Clinton&#8217;s emergence.  \u201cCompletely unnecessary in an era of mass homelessness and death,\u201d someone eye-rolled on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/peter_thrash\/status\/1565212300805410816\" target=\"_blank\">twitter<\/a>. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption>Clinton took in a photo op with the festival&#8217;s director Alberto Barbera, Italy&#8217;s Minister for Cultural Heritage Dario Franceschini and Italy&#8217;s Minister for Public Administration Renato Brunetta on Tuesday.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AFP via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI have a feeling Hillary Clinton would to walk out of a showing at the Venice Film Festival and nod and say the movie was really well shot,\u201d a fan <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/6rccn\/status\/1565082981198331904\" target=\"_blank\">added<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/erspamer_matt\/status\/1565120784930340864\" target=\"_blank\">joked<\/a>: \u201cIs Hillary Clinton covering Venice for Indiewire?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>another <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mannmiami\/status\/1565028138568282112\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>: \u201cHillary Clinton showing up at Venice Film Festival for zero reason.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Her Hands\u201d is set to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Sept.  9 and will drop on Netflix and in select theaters on Nov.  16.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hillary-clinton-venice-film-festival-07.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Celebrity at the open ceremony of the 79th Venice International Film Festival\" class=\"wp-image-23697299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hillary-clinton-venice-film-festival-07.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hillary-clinton-venice-film-festival-07.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hillary-clinton-venice-film-festival-07.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><figcaption>Twitter users inquired as to why Clinton was at the Venice Film Festival. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Stefano Costantino \/ MEGA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, a Netflix rep divulged to the Hollywood Reporter that Clinton&#8217;s arrival had nothing to do with the documentary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHillary was a guest of the festival&#8217;s for the opening night.  Not our doing, but of course, we are working with her on &#8216;In Her Hands,&#8217; \u201dthe Netflix rep noted.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea, 42, and her mother are also set to attend and speak at TIFF later this month for their other HiddenLight series, \u201cGutsy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Apple TV+ docuseries features candid convos with powerful women such as Megan Thee Stallion, Gloria Steinem, Jane Goodall, Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer.<\/p>\n<p>As for Baumbach&#8217;s buzzy film, \u201cWhite Noise\u201d is an apocalyptic black comedy starring Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver, which will be released in theaters in November and streamed on Netflix on Dec.  30.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>    .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hillary Clinton may have been a 2016 presidential candidate, the former First Lady and US Secretary of State, but now she&#8217;s making the rounds in the film industry.
