Bob West, a Barney performer who stepped into costume for the happy purple dinosaur, shared that death threats were made against his entire family.  \u201cThey were violent and explicit, death and dismemberment of my family,\u201d he says in the trailer.  \u201cThey were gonna come and find me, and they were going to kill me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tMuch of the dialogue in the trailer surrounds the show&#8217;s creator, Sheryl Leach, who developed the show in 1992 alongside Kathy Parker and Dennis DeShazer after initially creating home videos of the Barney character for her children.  A spliced \u200b\u200bstring of dialogue from multiple interviews in the trailer underscores the general purpose of the Barney character: \u201cBarney stands for inclusion, acceptance.
