The screenplay is by Josh Friedman, Patrick Aison, and \u201cRise of the Planet of the Apes\u201d writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tBased on a novel by Pierre Boulle, the first movie of the \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d franchise was released by 20th Century Fox in 1968, and earned an honorary Academy Award for outstanding makeup achievement.  The reboot, \u201cRise of the Planet of the Apes,\u201d premiered in 2011, followed by 2014&#8217;s \u201cDawn of the Planet of the Apes\u201d and 2017&#8217;s \u201cWar for the Planet of the Apes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\t\u201c&#8217;Planet of the Apes&#8217; is one of the most iconic and storied science fiction franchises in film history, as well as being an indelible part of our studio&#8217;s legacy,\u201d 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell said in a statement.  \u201cWith &#8216;Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes&#8217; we are privileged to continue the series&#8217; tradition of imaginative, thought-provoking cinema, and can&#8217;t wait to share Wes&#8217; extraordinary vision for this new chapter with audiences in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tJoe Hartwick Jr., Jaffa, Silver and Jason Reed serve as producers on the film.  Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping executive produce. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\t\u201cKingdom of the Planet of the Apes\u201d is slated for release in 2024.
