BEREA, Ohio — Myles Garrett doesn’t remember what precipitated losing control of his Porsche Monday afternoon and flipping it several times on his way home to Medina a few hours after practice, according to video released to cleveland.com by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Garrett and his passenger, Yiana Tjotjos, 23, of Rocky River, were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and released later that night.

Garrett a left shoulder injury, a right biceps injury and cuts to his right wrist. He returned to the Browns facility in Berea on Thursday, but sat out practice for the second straight day. Defensive coordinator Joe Woods said he’s day-to-day and hasn’t ruled him out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons.

Coordinators address the media on Thursdays and Kevin Stefanski does not.

Garrett, 26, was cited for failure to control his vehicle, and the investigation determined that he was traveling at an “unsafe speed” for the roadway. He told police he “got up to like 65″ mph in the 45 zone, the video shows.

There’s no mention by Garrett, who’s tentatively set to address the media on Friday, of swerving to avoid an animal, which NFL Network reported was the case.

“I remember accelerating up the hill but only because we were decelerating because we were going the same speed,” Garrett told officer Daniel Kehoe while he was in the ambulance. “I remember there was a car coming (from the opposite direction) but we didn’t hit the car.”

He said “I didn’t swerve” to avoid the oncoming car. He also said he didn’t remember hitting the brakes.

A witness told police when they arrived at the scene that “they came over the hill flyin’, went airborne, took the fire hydrant out and rolled three times.”

Garrett said he didn’t recall if something may have caused him to lose control.

“I remember going straight and then lost control first thing going left, right and then it just went right,” he said.

Garrett stopped early on during questioning to ask how Tjotjos was doing, and was told she was doing fine. According to the report, she suffered a minor head injury.

Garrett described pain in his right wrist, right bicep and left shoulder. He also felt discomfort in his left eye and asked, “do I have some bruising coming up on my eye?”

He was told it was a little swollen.

The officer urged Garrett to go to the hospital because he had told him he didn’t remember the crash and because of how bad the Porsche looked.

“I don’t remember losing consciousness,” Garrett said. “I remember rolling over, I remember, like, it was flashes.”

Asked what his speed was approximately, he said, “I think I got up to like 65.”

Garrett was concerned with possibly being kept overnight in the hospital, and Kehoe said he might not be if the scans came out okay.

Fortunately for Garrett, they did.
