{"id":83380,"date":"2022-10-01T02:30:10","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T02:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/robert-eggers-nosferatu-casts-bill-skarsgard-lily-rose-depp\/"},"modified":"2022-10-01T02:30:10","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T02:30:10","slug":"robert-eggers-nosferatu-casts-bill-skarsgard-lily-rose-depp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/robert-eggers-nosferatu-casts-bill-skarsgard-lily-rose-depp\/","title":{"rendered":"Robert Eggers&#8217; Nosferatu Casts Bill Skarsgard, Lily-Rose Depp"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<p>The upcoming Nosferatu movie from Robert Eggers has found its vampire.<\/p>\n<p>According to Deadline, Bill Skarsgard has joined the upcoming gothic horror while opposite Lily-Rose Depp who is still in talks to star.<\/p>\n<p>The Nosferatu remake is set in the 19th Century and will tell the story of a haunted young woman who becomes the object of obsession for an ancient Transylvanian vampire.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"article-video-container\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A Nosferatu remake has been in the works since 2015 and is something of a passion project for director, Robert Eggers.  The project almost came to fruition in 2019 with Harry Styes and Anya Taylor-Joy\u2026 but was ultimately shelved.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"object-feedback\"\/>\n<p>Eggers then went on to make his recent hit film, The Northman, which debuted earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter The Northman, Eggers started looking at other projects but always had his eye on coming back to the gothic tale,\u201d said Deadline.  Once the movie passed from Studio 8 to Focus Features, the filmmaker locked it in as his next project.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s reported that Skarsgard has been in the running for the role of the vampire since the project&#8217;s earlier iteration with Styles and Taylor-Joy\u2026 but now it looks as though he could be joined by Lily-Rose Depp instead.<\/p>\n<p>Considering his terrifying look as Pennywise in Stephen King&#8217;s It and It: Chapter Two, I get the feeling Eggers is onto a winner when it comes to Nosferatu.<\/p>\n<p>The original Count Orlok, the vampire in Nosferatu, was played by Max Schrek, and was renowned for its horrific visage.  Similarly, Skarsgard&#8217;s role in It has become renowned for its unsettling look, and it seems Skarsgard has managed to carve himself out quite a niche.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"widget-container\"><button type=\"button\" style=\"display:none\" class=\"jsx-2337568644\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 slideshow-preview\">\n<p>Best Horror Movies So Far In 2022<\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-862123036 hero-image\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-3600606818 aspect-ratio-container aspect-ratio-16-9\">\n<div class=\"jsx-3600606818 aspect-ratio-child\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"<b>X<\/b> <\/br> <\/br> Ti West&#8217;s X is as glorious and malevolent a return to horror features that anyone could ask for from the indie filmmaker turned prolific television director.  IGN&#8217;s official review gave X an 8 out of 10, which I come in a little higher on myself.  West&#8217;s incorporation of countless influences from Giallo to 70s sleazeploitation makes for an artfully chaotic brand of contemporary slasher.  It&#8217;s handily one of A24&#8217;s better horror films, filled with gratuitous but oh-so-slick gore and all the sweltery southern terrorization in films like The Town That Dreaded Sundown or The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.  <\/br> <\/br> Performances across the board help make X so memorable.  It&#8217;s Jenna Ortega&#8217;s year in horror without any question, but she&#8217;s only one piece to X&#8217;s blood-splattered puzzle.  Brittany Snow, Kid Cudi, Mia Goth, and more play above-and-beyond parts as pornographers trying to elevate their medium.  West has loads of fun comparing horror to pornography in terms of public perception, while characters are granted agency beyond easy stereotypes.  What&#8217;s not to like about a sex-positive slasher that swings a big ego and delivers as promised?&#8221; src=&#8221;https:\/\/assets-prd.ignimgs.com\/2022\/08\/02\/l-intro-1649959768-1659484036263.jpeg?width=888&amp;crop=16%3A9&amp;quality=20&amp;dpr=0.05&#8243; class=&#8221;jsx-2920405963 progressive-image image jsx-535044292 rounded expand loading&#8221;\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/output><\/p>\n<p>IGN&#8217;s review of The Northman gave it 8\/10 and said: \u201cRobert Eggers&#8217; Viking revenge saga The Northman works best when it dives head-first into dreams and disorienting visions, but it slows down when it becomes a more traditional Hollywood narrative.  With viciousness relegated to its margins, it often feels neutered and bloodless, but still ends up on the right side of entertaining thanks to its pulsating music and measured performances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eggers will both write and direct Nosferatu, while Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Eggers, Chris Columbus, and Eleanor Columbus are on board as producers.<\/p>\n<p>Want to read more about Nosferatu?
