no. 1 Georgia stumbled out of the gates at Missouri, falling behind 16-6 at halftime after struggling offensively and turning the football over twice. Missouri entered just 2-2 after a heartbreaking loss at Auburn last week, but the Tigers looked like a defensive juggernaut in in the first half as the Bulldogs faced their biggest deficit of the season.

The last time Georgia came back from a double-digit halftime deficit to win a game was in the 2018 Rose Bowl when the Dawgs trailed 31-17 before winning 54-48 to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Georgia totaled only four first downs on its first six possessions as quarterback Stetson Bennett completed 10 of 24 passes. The Dawgs looked surprisingly vulnerable defensively as well. Following three-and-outs on Missouri’s first two possessions, the Tigers scored on their next four series with a 9-play, 81-yard touchdown drive highlighting the stretch. They wasted another touchdown-scoring opportunity at the 1-yard line late in the second quarter, instead settling for a field goal. Will it come back to haunt Mizzou?
