{"id":84650,"date":"2022-10-02T12:30:59","date_gmt":"2022-10-02T12:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/thunderstorm-forces-f1-to-delay-singapore-gp-start\/"},"modified":"2022-10-02T12:30:59","modified_gmt":"2022-10-02T12:30:59","slug":"thunderstorm-forces-f1-to-delay-singapore-gp-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/thunderstorm-forces-f1-to-delay-singapore-gp-start\/","title":{"rendered":"Thunderstorm forces F1 to delay Singapore GP start"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"therace-post-content\">\n<p>The start of Formula 1&#8217;s Singapore Grand Prix has been delayed by a thunderstorm.<\/p>\n<p>Heavy rain started to fall just over an hour before the scheduled start of the race, accompanied by thunder and lightning.<\/p>\n<p>Just after 7pm local time, FIA race control unsurprisingly issued a notice that the pitlane opening and the \u201cwhole start procedure\u201d had been delayed.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">brb, going for a swim <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/k1H1GzdlxS\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/k1H1GzdlxS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Scuderia AlphaTauri (@AlphaTauriF1) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlphaTauriF1\/status\/1576529238781358080?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\">October 2, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Further updates kept the race on hold but just before 8pm local time \u2013 when the race was originally due to start \u2013 the FIA \u200b\u200bannounced that the formal start procedure would begin at 20.05 local time, with the pitlane opening for cars to go to the grid 20 minutes later and the formation lap beginning at 21:05, one hour and five minutes later than planned.<\/p>\n<p>The FIA&#8217;s weather radar indicates the thunderstorm progressed south towards the circuit and if it continues on its present trajectory should pass and leave a clear patch of weather.<\/p>\n<p>But the radar also indicates a strong chance of thunderstorms all the way through the evening.  Thunderstorms had already hit the Marina Bay area on Saturday as well.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>It is unclear how late the race can run until if there are any further delays from additional rains.
