Gwen Stefani became a little emotional while discussing her first red carpet appearance alongside Blake Shelton. <\/p>\n

Kelly Clarkson showed the 53-year-old singer-songwriter a photo of Stefani in a gorgeous red gown from the Vanity Fair Oscar party in February 2016. She then asked Gwen what ‘occasion’ she wore the garment for. <\/p>\n

‘That was my first public date with Blake Shelton,’ she revealed to the audience which shrieked out their enjoyment. <\/p>\n

A little emotional: Gwen Stefani became a little emotional while on the Kelly Clarkson Show as she was discussing her first red carpet appearance alongside Blake Shelton<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Clarkson said she had not realized that but told her how much she loved the gown. <\/p>\n

Stefani continued, ‘It was the Oscars Vanity Fair party. I think I played at the party and then we went out that night.’ <\/p>\n

To make it even more special, the Hollaback Girl singer admitted that Shelton ‘never does red carpets’ but made an exception for her. <\/p>\n

Stefani and Shelton started dating back in 2015 while they were both judges on The Voice. They got engaged in 2020 and married last summer. <\/p>\n

The dress was made by Vera Wang, and Stefani was quick to shower praise on the 73-year-old designer. <\/p>\n

‘She’s just so talented,’ Stefani said. ‘Vera’s been doing it for so long, and so to be able to work with her it was just so amazing.’ <\/p>\n

The No Doubt star said Vera’s original sketch looked nearly identical to the finished product, and she was blown away at seeing the dress really come to life. <\/p>\n
