You&#8217;ve got to have those.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">RELATED: Georgia re-creating identity with pass game struggle, Jalen Carter sidelined<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">No doubt, for three quarters it was as bad as Georgia football has looked since an upset overtime home loss to an unranked South Carolina team in 2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-contentElements\">\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container\" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kirby Smart will have the Dawgs fired up, says former SEC coach\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6mF85O293qE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">The offense struggled with fumbles, errant throws and missed blocks, while the defense missed tackles, missed fits and had broken assignments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">It was hard to believe the Bulldogs were the 28-point favorites as they trailed by 10 points at halftime and again entering the fourth quarter (19-9) \u2014 the first time in three years UGA failed to score a touchdown through three quarters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">But come the fourth quarter, Smart and his assistants showed why they are among the highest paid in the industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">\u201cYou look at coaching adjustments,\u201d said Pruitt, who worked at Smart&#8217;s side for six years at Alabama.  \u201cYou work all week to put a plan together, and you get three quarters in and maybe the plan is not working as well as you thought.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">\u201cIt says a lot about Kirby and his staff to be able to make adjustments as the game goes and the players execute it and find a way to win.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-contentElements\">\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">SEC POWER RANKINGS: Alabama then Georgia, and where&#8217;s the threat after that?<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">Pruitt, as he does each week, recapped SEC games and made predictions about the coming weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">Georgia, a school he coached at under Mark Richt, remained a favorite topic for Pruitt as he looked to the future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">\u201cI can tell you having worked with the head coach at the University of Georgia, this guy is relentless, he&#8217;s not going to let up,\u201d Pruitt said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">\u201cThe 2021 season is over, he&#8217;s not looking in the rearview mirror, he&#8217;s looking straight ahead,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">\u201cI guarantee you in Athens, Georgia, they will improve as a football team, and they will be read Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-contentElements\">\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-x-small\">SEC BETTING LINES: Banged-up Bulldogs a massive favorite, Tide expected to roll Jimbo<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mike Griffith DawgNation Staff @mikegriffith32 Posted 3 hours ago AUBURN, Ala. \u2014Kirby Smart appeared remarkably calm to some Saturday night at Missouri, even as his then-No. 1-ranked team appeared to be melting down.
