In an emotional interview with Seth Meyers on Monday, Constance Wu provided new context for her controversial 2019 tweets about Fresh Off the Boat<\/em>‘s renewal, alleging that a producer’s harassment was behind her dismay with the show’s pickup.<\/p>\n

When ABC renewed Fresh Off the Boat<\/em> for Season 6 in May 2019, Wu was publicly unhappy with the decision; when a fan tweeted that the pickup was \u201cgreat news,\u201d Wu replied, \u201cNo it’s not.\u201d At the time, Wu also tweeted, \u201cF\u2014king hell\u201d and \u201cSo upset right now that I’m literally crying. Ugh. F\u2014k.\u201d She later said her posts were \u201cill-timed\u201d and that she was actually \u201cso grateful\u201d that the comedy would be coming back for another season. One day later, she further clarified that she was disappointed because the renewal meant she’d have to pass on \u201canother project I was really passionate about.\u201d<\/p>\n
