\n<\/aside>\nConservative commentator Candace Owens clapped back at critics who ripped her and Kanye \u201cYe\u201d West for wearing \u201cWhite Lives Matter\u201d shirts \u2013 and even brought music star Lizzo into her lecture.<\/p>\n
Owens, during part of her Daily Wire podcast, defended her and West’s outfit choice during Paris fashion week as she argued black Americans should care more about abortion, \u201cblack-on-black\u201d crime, education standards and obesity, which is when she tied Lizzo into her rant.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know what we should’ve done, we should’ve put a ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirt on Lizzo,\u201d Owens said. \u201cMaybe we could have gotten a lot of attention about obesity and how it’s actually killing black Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n
Obesity is one of the leading causes of death in the US, according to the CDC.<\/p>\n
Owens’ rant on the \u201cWhite Lives Matter\u201d controversy started right at the top of her show after a photo of her and West in the shirts was posted across social media.<\/p>\nLizzo was brought into Owens’ speech during every podcast Tuesday. <\/figcaption>Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cThere is a deep irony and a sad irony when you consider that wearing a t-shirt has led such a tremor throughout the world,\u201d Owens said. \u201cA t-shirt that says ‘White Lives Matters,’ which should be implied, right. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhite lives matter, black lives matter, Asian lives matter \u2014 it should be implied, yet people are angry and they are being vicious online because they can’t believe that we have the audacity to detract from the movement which is a lie: \u201c Black Lives Matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
West, who now goes by Ye, faced immense criticism on social media over the \u201cWhite Lives Matter\u201d statement.<\/p>\n
Jaden Smith, son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith tweeted<\/a>\u201cI Had To Dip Lol\u201d after he walked out of West’s fashion show in protest and then later stated in a series of tweets<\/a>, \u201cTrue Leaders Lead. I Don’t Care Who’s It Is If I Don’t Feel The Message I’m Out. Black Lives Matter. We Demand A More Progressive Future.\u201d<\/p>\n \nTemple University Professor Marc Lamont Hill called West’s t-shirt choice \u201cdisgusting.\u201d<\/p>\n
