Alabama saw Bryce Young go down against Arkansas with a sprained shoulder. While there is the chance that the defending Heisman Trophy winner could miss time, Nick Saban has officially ruled Young “day-to-day” as Texas A&M is next on the schedule on Saturday.

Redshirt freshman Jalen Milroe came on in relief of Young and had a strong performance, breaking off a big 77-yard run early in the 4th quarter to set the Crimson Tide up for a touchdown that put them up 35-23, en route to a 49-26 wins.

Along with Milroe, Saban has true freshman Ty Simpson on his roster. Could the former 5-star from Tennessee end up the starter over Milroe should Young be forced out out for an extended period of time?

“I think if it’s a long-term injury, the long-term solution is Ty Simpson,” SEC Network play-by-play man Tom Hart said on “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” on WJOX-FM on Tuesday. “I think he can run the offense they day they want it to be run in this day and age. Three of every plays with Milroe under center on Saturday, they ran the ball, and that’s fine, and that’s going to give them plenty of offense against this Texas A&M offense which can’t score more than 3 touchdowns in a game.

“So between him and Jahmyr Gibbs, if Alabama is run-heavy, I think that’s perfectly fine and OK in this game. But if Bryce is out and impacted any longer than a week in any sort of long-term issue or if this is an issue that is recurring, I think Simpson is the better option for what they want to do.”

Television’s very own @tom_hart stopped by @MacandCube to discuss Ty Simpson being @AlabamaFTBL‘s best option, over Jalen Milroe, to replace Bryce Young if his injury requires him to miss multiple weeks.
