{"id":88008,"date":"2022-10-05T18:46:01","date_gmt":"2022-10-05T18:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/houston-texas-model-crowned-first-filipino-american-miss-usa\/"},"modified":"2022-10-05T18:46:01","modified_gmt":"2022-10-05T18:46:01","slug":"houston-texas-model-crowned-first-filipino-american-miss-usa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/houston-texas-model-crowned-first-filipino-american-miss-usa\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston, Texas model crowned first Filipino American Miss USA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>R&#8217;Bonney Gabriel will now compete for Miss Universe after taking the Miss Texas USA and Miss USA crowns!<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p>HOUSTON \u2014 Friendswood model and fashion designer, R&#8217;Bonney Gabriel, continues to make history.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p>The winner of Miss Texas USA 2022 now holds the crown for Miss USA after winning the pageant Monday night in Nevada.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p>Gabriel will now represent the United States in the upcoming 71st Miss Universe pageant, which takes place starting in January in New Orleans.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p>She joins another Filipino American woman, Averie Bishop from Dallas, in representing the state of Texas in the most esteemed pageants.  Bishop will compete for the title of Miss America in December.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p>Gabriel graduated from the University of North Texas in 2018 and has her own independent clothing label out of the Houston area.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p><strong class=\"cms__embed-related-story\">RELATED: First Filipina crowned Miss Texas USA<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\">\n<p>Gabriel also showcased her Miss USA interview outfit on her account as a way to honor her parents.
