Brendan Fraser was in attendance at last night’s screening of the new Darren Aronofsky film \u201cThe Whale\u201d at the Mill Valley Film Festival, and he had some words of apology for the city of San Francisco and the broader Bay Area.<\/p>\n

In a red carpet interview with SFGATE before the film, Fraser recounted an incident that took place during the filming of the 1997 comedy \u201cGeorge of the Jungle.\u201d Set and filmed in San Francisco, the movie features an iconic scene showing Fraser (as George) dangling from the top of the Bay Bridge (Fraser erroneously referenced the Golden Gate Bridge, but it’s been 25 years, so we’ll give him a break ).<\/p>\n

“I have almost an apology to make,” Fraser said.<\/p>\n

“When we were doing ‘George of the Jungle,’ George goes to rescue a parachutist tangled in the Golden Gate Bridge. That means Disney put a mannequin hanging by a parachute from the uprights.”<\/p>\n
