The first footage, which you can see below, teases a trip back to Cleveland Street when the <em>Christmas Story<\/em> sequel is streaming November 17th on HBO Max. <\/p>\n<p>Set in the 1970s, <em>A Christmas Story <\/em>follows an adult Ralphie as he &#8220;returns to the house on Cleveland Street to deliver his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had growing up,&#8221; according to the official logline.  &#8220;With the same attention-to-real-life tone of the first, Ralphie reconnects with childhood friends, reconciles the passing of his Old Man and sows the seeds for the origins of the beloved holiday classic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"767\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/nZ56rcXcNzQ?autoplay=0&amp;loop=0&amp;fs=1&amp;start=0&amp;rel=1&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" title=\"A Christmas Story Christmas | Teaser Trailer\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Warner Bros.  also revealed a full <em>Christmas Story<\/em> trailer will release &#8220;soon.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The 40-years-later follow-up also features the return of original <em>A Christmas Story <\/em>cast members Ian Petrella as Ralphie&#8217;s younger brother, Randy;  RD Robb as the triple dog-daring Schwartz;  Scott Schwartz as the frozen-tongued Flick;  and Zack Ward as the yellow-eyed bully Scut Farkus.  Clay Kaytis (<em>The Christmas Chronicles<\/em>) directs from a script by Nick Schenk (<em>Gran Torino, The Mule<\/em>). <\/p>\n<p>Newcomers to the cast include Erinn Hayes (<em>Kevin Can Wait, Bill &#038; Ted Face the Music<\/em>) as Ralphie&#8217;s wife, Sandy Parker;  River Drosche (<em>Miracle Workers<\/em>) and Julianna Layne (<em>Saturday Night Live<\/em>) as their children;  and Julie Hagerty (<em>Airplane!, Instant Family<\/em>) as Ralphie&#8217;s mother, Mrs.  Parker, replacing the retired Melinda Dillon.  The late Darren McGavin portrayed Ralphie&#8217;s grumpy, lamp-loving Old Man in the 1983 original. <\/p>\n<p>A theatrical sequel, <em>It Runs in the Family <\/em>(later retitled <em>My Summer Story<\/em>), followed the now-classic <em>Christmas Story<\/em> in 1994.
