NVIDIA TITAN RTX “Island”

The rumors about NVIDIA canceled (or shelved) project of next-gen TITAN GPU resurface every few weeks. This time, however, Moore’s Law is Dead is claiming to have real photos of the engineering sample which were used to create detailed renders.

NVIDIA is seemingly exploring the idea of releasing the ultimate gaming GPU as part of their TITAN series. We have not seen a new TITAN GPU in a while, as the company focuses their efforts on the GeForce product line. However, the situation on the GPU market is fluid enough for NVIDIA to consider such an option in the future.

Presently, the full AD102 GPU is not expected to debut under RTX 40 series anytime soon. The so-called RTX 4090 Ti is almost certainly coming at some point, but this leak shows that NVIDIA could just as well put a TITAN badge on it and increase the price even further.

The leak claims that NVIDIA has finished prototypes working in the lab as we speak, and they definitely look like finished product. To confirm this, MLID is sharing one heavily edited photograph of the card, while the remaining are renders based on other photos.

What stands out here are dual 16-pin power connectors located in a very unusual place. One must wonder if this card is a prototype of the quad-slot GPU that we saw a few months ago, although the heatsink fins are at a different angle.

NVIDIA Quad-Slot “ADA” GPU prototype

Earlier rumors have shown that NVIDIA was planning an AD102-450 based model with 18176 CUDA cores and 48GB of GDDR6X memory. It is now said that this GPU could even feature 24 Gbps memory modules, which would increase the bandwidth by 14% over the RTX 4090 card.

This TITAN prototype does not have a release date, nor it is expected to launch anytime soon. This leak only claims that NVIDIA has a prototype at the labs ready in case it is ever needed.
