We are underway in Charlotte, as the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers have taken the field for what Baker Mayfield hopes is a successful revenge game. After being passed over for Deshaun Watson this offseason, the former No. 1 overall pick is beginning anew with a team that hopes they lucked into a franchise quarterback.
There’s a chance for some wet weather in the Queen City today, which could be beneficial for Cleveland. However, the Browns are winless in their last 17 season openers, and haven’t won a Week 1 game on the road since 1994, when Bill Belichick and Vinny Testaverde led Cleveland to a win over Cincinnati.
