The Heat will not be meeting with Jalen Brunson today after all.
Following a report on Wednesday from Yahoo Sports that the free-agent point guard planned to sit down with the Mavericks, Knicks and Heat when the free agency period begins Thursday at 6 pm, the Associated Press reported that Miami will not be meeting with him.
So it will just be the Mavericks and the Knicks, his primary suitors from the beginning. There remains the belief that Brunson will be a Knick, receiving a contract in the range of four years and $110 million, unless the Mavericks decide to up what they are willing to pay him.
While the Knicks are expected to bring back Mitchell Robinson, they are reportedly also interested in intriguing big man Isaiah Hartenstein of the Clippers. The 24-year-old, 7-footer averaged 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists last year. He has bounced around, playing for the Rockets, Nuggets, Cavaliers and Clippers, and is expected to receive interest from a lot of teams, most notably the Magic.
