James Bond stars Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth

They were On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

A pair of 007s remembered Queen Elizabeth following her death Thursday at age 96.

Actor Daniel Craig, who played James Bond in five movies from 2006-2021, gave a statement to the PA news agency.

“I, like so many, was deeply saddened by the news today and my thoughts are with the royal family, those she loved and all those who loved her,” Craig said. “She leaves an incomparable legacy and she will be profoundly missed.”

Craig performed in a sketch with Queen Elizabeth for the 2012 Olympics.

The skit featured Craig, portraying Bond, walking past Queen Elizabeth’s iconic and adorable corgis before taking a helicopter to the site of the Olympic games in London.

Pierce Brosnan, who played the MI6 agent in four movies from 1995-2002, posted about Her Majesty on Instagram.

“Rest In Peace Your Majesty,” the actor said. “It was an honor to serve you.”

Sir Sean Connery, the original movie James Bond, was knighted by the Queen in 2000. Sir Roger Moore, who starred in seven Bond films, was knighted in 2003 for his charity work, having been a UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 1991.
