In an interview with Resident Evil 4 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi we asked if the remake efforts for classic resident Evil titles will continue after the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake and, more specifically would Hirabayahi-san like to work on a Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake.
Hirabayashi-san responded that his focus is currently on the development of Resident Evil 4 Remake and making that the best experience for fans. He continued that there are no concrete plans to develop Resident Evil Code Veronica Remakebut if the “opportunity comes, maybe.”

Resident Evil 4 Remake will feature much of the tense horror-action players remember from the game with a “state-of-the-art quality” suitable for 2023. However, the team is focused on preserving the essence of the original game and plans to provide a familiar experience that fans of the series remember.
Still, they want to offer a fresh new feeling with additional story elements. This is a “reimagining” of the storyline of the game while keeping the essence of the direction with modernized graphics and updated controls.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is launching for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2023.
