The first round of this year’s NFC North showdowns is underway, with the new-look Vikings playing host to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. The visitors may have come in with the edge, looking for their fourth straight division title, but Minnesota is debuting its contemporary offense under new coach Kevin O’Connell, with weapons like Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson among the best in the NFL, and all is well in purple so far.
Kirk Cousins had a nearly flawless first half feeding Jefferson, who topped 100 yards well before the break along with two touchdowns, while Rodgers struggled to find any rhythm with his weapons post-Davante Adams.
Can Rodgers summon some magic to come down from 17 and spoil Minnesota’s home opener? Or are the rejuvenated Vikings truly ready to make some early-season noise under new leadership?
